This quick introduction will show you how Gible uses Zoom to power real-time online classes, giving teachers and students a reliable and familiar video meeting experience.

For Teachers — As the class host, you have full moderator controls through Zoom. This includes starting and managing your meeting, sharing your screen or slides, using Zoom's built-in whiteboard for interactive teaching, enabling breakout rooms for small group activities, managing participant audio and video, running in-session polls, monitoring the chat, and starting or stopping cloud recording. You can also use the waiting room to control when students enter and manage participant permissions at any time during the class.

For Students — Joining a Gible class is as simple as clicking the Join Now button on the class page. You'll be connected to the Zoom session where you can interact with your teacher in real time, participate in breakout rooms, use the chat, and respond to polls and reactions.

A quick introduction to using Zoom for online classes on Gible

1. If you want to open a class as a teacher:

Sign up as a teacher at the Login page or Become a Teacher page. After filling in all our personal information, move on to teaching information. Please check all the boxes/information that apply to you. The more specific your preference is the better! Upload additional information, if any, at the bottom and click submit. 

We match students that best suits you based on the time zone, class contents, preferred country, and age of the student.

2. If you want to take a class as a group or a student(s):

Sign up as a group or a member at the Login page. After filling in the request form, move on to student information. Please check all the boxes that apply to you or your group of students. The more specific your preference is the better! Upload additional information, if any, at the bottom and click submit. 

If you have a party of two or three persons but are not part of an organization, you may still sign up for a class with detailed information about the class you are hoping to take.

Step 1 - How to request a class?

Based on the information entered by a teacher, a list of suggested classes will be provided after a thorough review by the administrator. The list is based on one’s class preference, the time difference between two countries, the age range of students, etc. Then the teacher can create a class that corresponds to the needs.

Matched classes can be found in both the Profile and Class tabs.


Step 2 - How to create a class?

Teachers and students meet regularly to study in real-time. Both sides will use Gible as their platform to be connected. 

1. Teachers
Start a video chat by clicking the video chat icon of your class that appears in the Class Tab.
Please start the video chat 5-10 minutes prior to the scheduled class time so students could enter the class early. 
Click the “Screen Share” icon on your computer to proceed with the lesson.
Teachers may upload class materials and homework before or after each class for students. 

2. Students and Groups
Students may join a video chat by clicking the class's video chat icon that appears in Gible's Class tab. 
Students do not need a Gible account to take a class. However, they can take a class with a given password by the teacher or your group.
If you have a group account already, this password will be shared with you upon registering for a class. Please provide the password directly to the student prior to each class.


Step 3 - How to interact in real-time?

We maintain the consistency of education through basic formats and a variety of standardized curriculums.

You can teach the same students for the length of one course, or you can teach different students from multiple countries for each class. Whether you choose to be designated to a class or not, we keep each class for the given length of period for the students who are taking the course.

Since each course is based on 8 sessions, we recommend all teachers to have a minimum teaching session of 1 hour for each class.

Depending on the teacher's schedule, the class may be held once a week for 2 months (8 weeks) or twice a week for 1 month (4 weeks).
After the 8th session, there is a 1-2 week class break. Then, if the teacher wishes to continue teaching the next course, the next lesson will be held. (The schedule will be informed)

We also connect students with teachers for personal mentoring sessions if needed.
